Hello all and welcome back to Heaver News! I hope this newsletter finds you well.

The Conservative Government should have ditched the ECHR a while back. I’ve written about this extensively and the case for doing so has never been clearer. This is likely to now be one of the top issues at the next General Election.

Before I get to that though, allow me to thank once again the many paid supporters of this newsletter including the newest one, John. Welcome and thank you for supporting Heaver News.

My previous article highlighting YouGov’s research that shows Nigel Farage topping the popularity stakes in first position appears to have upset some Twitter-obsessed lefties. Oh well, never mind.

I was much more interested in the response to my article from paid supporters of Heaver News and the always forthright Mrs Bucket has argued that time is running out:

“Nigel needs to make his mind up what he's going to do - it will take many months to get Reform running as a serious party...if that's his plan.”

RW52 meanwhile is very confident about a Farage political comeback:

“I'm 100% sure Nigel will return, it's all about timing. I don't think anything will happen until the date of the GE is announced.”

Whilst Hilary gave this assessment:

“RW52 is right in that Nigel’s levels of vexation are on the rise at the ineptitudes going on in British politics right now, and there are many.

“But he’s been here before, and as Michael mentioned our FPP system means all that effort bares very little fruit in terms of seats and I feel Nigel would want to secure more than an empty victory with millions of votes but only 1 or 2 seats if that.

“So, who knows…perhaps he will continue to do what he does now by speaking out on his various platforms like GB News where he can agitate and influence in other ways from the sidelines; at least for now.”

The speculation will continue of course - with the prospect of Reform overtaking the Tories now a serious possibility.

One of the reasons for that has been the total failure to stop the illegal boat crossings from France to England.

The ECHR’s interference back in 2022 on the Government’s Rwanda plan has been a humiliation.

Rishi Sunak could have come in as PM, shown leadership and tasked Suella Braverman as Home Secretary with delivering an ECHR exit. Instead she’s no longer in Government. A huge missed opportunity.

But a European Court ruling this week shows why the need to escape from this absurd ECHR system is now greater than ever before. And why Reform are now the only Leave party.
