It’s getting closer and closer.
Labour’s poll lead has now evaporated - and Keir Starmer’s Labour Party are now rattled at the prospect of Reform UK overtaking them.
Before I get to that though, we now know that the next Conservative Leader will either be Robert Jenrick or Kemi Badenoch.
Will either be able to unite their party? Just focusing on the ECHR issue it’s a case of Remainer Tory MPs outnumbering the Leavers (as usual).
Jenrick is pledging to Leave - but few other Conservative MPs have publicly. Far more have spoken against such a move.
And will the public even believe more Tory pledges, given the party’s repeated failures in Government?
A paid supporter of Heaver News, RW52, commented last week that:
“Whoever wins the Tory leadership won't make the slightest difference, they are finished, nobody believes them and STILL they don't listen.”
That will be the challenge for the next Tory Leader.
As for Labour - well ‘smash the gangs’ is now contradicted by preparations for the illegal crossings from France to continue until 2036.
No wonder Labour and Starmer’s support has plummeted - with the party now fearing a further Reform surge.
