So the verdict from the Red Wall is in - with an endorsement of Lee Anderson’s defection to Reform UK.

It is no surprise to me that the first Reform MP has led to a poll boost for the party who are now just 2 points behind the Tories in England.

Now many more voters in the Red Wall have backed the switch than opposed it, including major backing from those who voted Conservative at the last General Election.

It is verdicts like this from voters that demonstrate just how dire the situation now is for Rishi Sunak’s Conservatives.
