Record Immigration Shows They Just Aren't Listening
Soaring net migration confirms Westminster has ignored Brexit voters.

Mikemac’s verdict on the recent changes made by Rishi Sunak is that:
“Rishi Sunak's reshuffle will make things worse. The boats still keep coming and he has been told how to stop them. He just will not listen.”
Whilst RW52 seems optimistic about the Reform Party’s prospects:
“Looking good for us (Reform UK) 10% and not yet in top gear.
“I've noticed that Reforms suggestion of raising tax threshold to £20,000 is now starting to be talked about.
“Immigration is still the main criteria and only Reform will leave the ECHR.”
It is likely that Reform will see their support increase further after a shocking set of immigration figures for a Government that seem intent on ignoring Brexit voters.
The latest YouGov stats confirm once again what we know: a clear majority (60%) of voters think levels of immigration have been too high.
That rises to a whopping 87% of Conservative voters and 86% of Leavers.
Post-Brexit, our Government is in control of legal migration. They can no longer blame EU open borders, which we’ve removed.
So they have chosen to drive up numbers, rather than cut them.
This week we’ve learnt that migration in 2022 was a net 745,000, a truly astonishing and completely irresponsible figure.
Meanwhile in the year-ending June 2023, the figure is estimated to be 672,000.
It is all a slap in the face for Brexit voters who voted to take back control - so that the Government could then reduce net migration.
Don’t forget, it wasn’t long ago that the likes of David Cameron and Theresa May spoke out in favour of bringing net migration below 100,000.
In fact the Tories have now chosen to do the complete opposite.
No wonder pressure on local services and housing stock has surged to this degree when the population is exploding.
Clearly many Conservative MPs are appalled by the Government’s complete failure to deliver what Brexit voters demanded.
This was the verdict from the now former Home Secretary Suella Braverman:
“Today’s record migration stats show we’ve let in an extra million people in just 2 years, a population equivalent to Birmingham.
“The pressure on housing, the NHS, schools, wages, and community cohesion, is unsustainable. When do we say: enough is enough?
“We were elected on a pledge to reduce net migration, which was 229k in 2019.
“Today’s record numbers are a slap in the face to the British public who have voted to control and reduce migration at every opportunity. We must act now to reduce migration to sustainable levels.
“Brexit gave us the tools. It’s time to use them.
“As HS I pushed to: Put an annual cap on net migration; Raise the salary threshold to £45k (excluding health & social care); Close the graduate visa route; Cap health & social care visas; Limit dependents on all visas.”
Whilst Tory MP Miriam Cates said:
“Today’s UK migration figures are astounding: a million new people from abroad were added to our population last year.
“There is simply no democratic consent for this. Attempts to reduce NHS waiting times or solve the housing crisis are futile unless we drastically reduce numbers.”
And another Conservative, Neil O’Brien, remarked that:
“In every election since 1992 we have promised to reduce migration. Today's extraordinary numbers mean the PM must now take immediate and massive action to do that to do just that.”
The Government have blatantly chosen to ignore the country - and especially Brexit voters - on this.
But what’s the point of a Conservative Government that ramps up immigration whilst hiking up the tax burden?
Is everyone half asleep? The Tories signed up to the UN's Migration Pact OVER FIVE YEARS AGO. What did you think would happen? Why haven't those dimwits at Reform been shouting about it? Why isn't there a Reform youtube video on this, with half a million views by now? Why isn't it all over Reform's Twitter feeds? Why doesn't it feature in Reform's soppy leaflets at each by-election where they've failed dismally and only helped Labour? FFS Reform up your game, Britain is under attack, it has been for years, it is being destroyed by mass, unvetted immigration as the primary weapon and you don't even know who is behind it and why.
It's interesting to note that one year's immigration figure is 680.000 more in total than the strength of the British Army of 65000. I recently joined Reform, it's perhaps the only way we can put our case over to the Conservatives, and more of us should do so, it seems to be the only weapon we have left. Sunak not being an Anglo Saxon is not going to think like one. I am a lifelong Conservative voter, but under the present non leadership, for the sake of this once great nation- he has to go.
