As Nigel Farage continues to dominate the General Election campaign, there is more and more research pointing to the probability of Reform MPs being elected. Even under the absurd First Past The Post system!
Before I get to that though, thanks so much to paid subscribers of Heaver News for your comments in response to my previous post.
Hilary gave this perspective:
“Let’s hope this shift in Reforms polling gains even more traction, goodness only knows we could do with the feeling of hope instilling back into us.
“As I’ve said before I am yet to fathom the large lead Labour have acquired, they are lacklustre, barely any different to this current incarnation of the Conservatives.”
Meanwhile, Mrs. Bucket is now more optimistic:
“Fabulous news, a glimmer of hope, now Nigel needs to follow through and appoint prominent, key spokespeople.
“Firstly a tough, no nonsense, Nigel Lawson-sized Economics Spokesman to rip Labour into small pieces.
“Then an Energy Spokesman to give the Climatidiots all the heat and sparks they deserve for their utter twaddle. And so on.
“We don't want another 4 million votes/one seat UKIP result.”
Zorro responded to that comment with their own perspective on Reform:
“There, I said cheer up and you have. I spoke to my Reform PPC at a market stall today. 28, I groaned when I heard but am now pleasantly surprised.
“That and Nigel forging ahead has cheered me up no end. Chris Clowes said he himself has been more than surprised at the level of support from the young.
“'Come on Nigel' came the cry from a neighbouring stall. Heartening indeed.”
As keeps being said, something is happening out there.
The question is whether the millions of votes Reform will receive results in seats under the outdated, unfair and brutal FPTP electoral system.
Well actually even under this voting system, Reform’s prospects of breaking through are looking better than ever before.
