UK Suffers Unexpected Shock

Labour hammer the economy.

For a Labour Government that has constantly talked up ‘growth’, today exposes the disaster of the Rachel Reeves budget.

Just as Labour have completely failed to stop the boats, their anti-business budget has also had devastating consequences.

Today we learn that the UK economy unexpectedly shrank in January. Not good.

The reality for the economy under Labour is dire. We know that hiring recently fell to a 16-month low.

A hiring freeze is now in place for many medium-sized businesses.

And Labour’s budget tax raid on business has resulted in private sector recruitment hitting its lowest level since 2012.

Labour bizarrely seem to want to blame President Trump who is implementing his America First tariff offensive, with the European Union facing a potential 200% tariff.

Thanks to Brexit, the UK Government has the freedom to negotiate directly with America and should be able to secure a Deal that escapes what the EU is now facing.

But more broadly, what is emerging already from Labour is a Government taking the country backwards economically, presiding over pathetically weak borders and moving the nation towards a dangerous two-tier society.

So who will counter this dire state of affairs?

Well despite some of the negative noise surrounding Reform UK this week, it may surprise you that a national poll conducted on Wednesday found that Nigel Farage’s party has actually extended its lead.

Find Out Now have Reform up on 27% versus Labour on 24% and the Conservatives third yet again on 21%.

As the polling firm explain:

“The main trend over time has been the growth of Reform UK, driven by them by retaining almost all of their 2024 GE support (retaining far more than any other party), winning over a fifth (20%) of 2024 GE Conservative voters, and winning half (49%) of people who didn’t vote in 2024 but say they would ‘definitely vote’ this time.”

I have always believed that Labour’s agenda would get found out quickly and the question was then who would establish themselves as the main challenger, best poised to oust Starmer and Co at the next General Election.

All indications still point to Reform as being the main opposition now.
