The fastest growing petition the country has ever seen? It must be up there.
Of course this online demand for a General Election will be largely ignored by the Labour Government. It certainly won’t trigger another election.
But what it does do is send a message and show just how unpopular Keir Starmer’s Government is becoming. And in record time.
Just to highlight once more: following Tony Blair’s 1997 election victory, Labour led in the polls until September 2000.
By contrast, some polls already have Labour below 30%, overtaken by the Conservatives and with Reform not far behind.
Let’s recap Labour’s agenda so far.
Hammering farmers in this country with inheritance tax whilst giving millions away to foreign farmers abroad.
A cut to winter fuel allowance destined to sink many pensioners below the poverty line, whilst pledging another £310m to the World Health Organisation.
The Chagos Islands surrender that is viewed very negatively by the incoming Trump Administration.
Squeezing employers with tax hikes whilst billions are now spent each year on asylum accommodation and support cost giveaways.
Another 33,000 people have crossed from France to England on small boats this year alone.
So what we’re getting from this Government is pretty damn bleak.
Having looked at the research, the chief motivation for Labour voters overall at the last election was simply to boot the Tories out.
But the horrendous agenda now being driven by Labour in power has triggered an almighty backlash, with a simple petition showing the scale of pushback.
“Call a General Election.
“I would like there to be another General Election.
“I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last Election.”
As I’ve written this article, the numbers signing have gone up another 20,000 or so, with the 2 million barrier now broken.
Some have mocked the petition as irrelevant or claimed it simply doesn’t matter. I disagree.
What it clearly demonstrates is the intensity of opposition to what Labour are now doing to the country.
The battle is now between the Tories and Reform UK as to who will take charge when voters finally get to cast their verdict on PM Starmer’s premiership.
The ambition for Reform is to have a major impact in next year’s local elections in May.
There are signs of the party building momentum across the country that will worry both the Conservatives and Labour.
Reform gained two seats in Kent last week, including Swanscombe and Greenhithe on Kent County Council.
They also won the by-election for Dartford Council, in Greenhithe and Knockhall.
In the latter, Reform UK scored over 31% of the vote.
Who came last? The Conservatives, whose vote collapsed 23 points down to 12%, the same level of support as Labour.
A sign of things to come?

I'm a Reform member and will vote Reform whenever I can, but lately they have had a couple of mis-steps which have alienated a large number of followers. Getting rid of Ben Habib, who is extremely popular, Richard referring to us as "that lot" and Nigel dialling back on the immigration problem. Come on Reform, you can and must do better!
There are 54 Labour seats with less than a 15 % margin, that may be at risk.
Putting aside Forest of Dean (278 votes) and Derbyshire Dales (350 votes),
Reform could begin a recall petition in these agricultural seats where they came second:
Montgomery and Glyndwr (3815 vote margin)
Llanelli (1504 vote margin)
