Reform UK has already sparked sniping from Conservative MPs, with both parties soon set to hold their conferences in Birmingham.
Before I get to that though, allow me to thank paid subscribers for your comments in response to my previous article.
Looking ahead to next May’s local elections RW52 had this to say:
“It's all bubbling up nicely for the local elections. No matter who the Tories vote in they will be inept.
“Starmer looks a worried man now with his greying hair. Watching his people sat behind him at PM Questions they all looked like the nodding dogs you used to see through the back window in cars..they actually sicken me.”
Not a big fan of Labour, then! Meanwhile, Haydn is feeling optimistic about the Farage factor:
“Nigel Farage boosts my morale and the morale of millions like me, only because he speaks as most of us feel, no action as yet but it will come!
“Deport foreign prisoners would be a winner - it costs far more to keep a prisoner in jail than it does to keep a student at Eton.”
Mrs. Bucket also gave this outlook moving forward:
“Reform has a wide open goal with Starmer and his idiot MPs making one howling mistake after another.
“This should be the shortest honeymoon ever for a comedy Labour Government and a delicious lesson in reality for the fools who voted them in.
“But Reform MUST act fast and get good quality spokesmen and women in place and touring the country, stirring things up big time!”
Whilst Hilary seems to like what she’s seen from Reform MPs thus far:
“Reform being Parliament is a great thing, at least they are challenging things as much as possible at the minute, as much as 5 people can do anyway.”
By coincidence, both the Conservatives and Reform have conferences shortly being held in Birmingham.
Though they will take place a week or so apart, it feels like another example of the showdown we’re going to see play out over the next few years.
Already the pressure has caused a bizarre lashing out from a Tory MP who should really have done their research.
It comes at a time when Governments across Europe are increasingly seeking to opt out of EU rules.
Brexit actually shows that the UK is ahead of the game. What a shame the Conservatives refused to take advantage in office.
