Following some rather vague and uninspiring pledges, Rishi Sunak’s Conservatives are still losing support rather than winning it back. May’s elections are fast approaching and the situation is looking pretty dire for the Tories.

Labour’s lead in the Red Wall, for instance, is still growing. Reform UK are firmly now the third party in these seats.

National polls also show the Tories sinking into oblivion. If the latest People Polling research result played out at a General Election, the Tories would be down to around just 20 MPs.

A while to go yet until the next General Election of course. But May’s elections could be brutal for the Tories. Could Conservative MPs mount yet another leadership challenge?

Some more shocking figures this week also expose the Government’s failure to stop a huge ongoing crisis.
