It Gets Worse
The obscene scale of illegal migration that has continued in 2022 may not be attracting the headlines, but it really should be. Research has shown time and again that this is a top concern for the British public.
Remember that more than 28,000 came across on small boats from France last year.
This year the numbers are set to be even higher. On 30th July, 460 people on 12 boats came across in a single day.
On Monday, a further 696 people came across on some 14 boats.
More than 17,000 people have now used this dangerous route to Britain already this year. At the equivalent point last year, the number was around 9,500.
The government’s response of course has consisted of a Rwanda policy that hasn’t happened and shows no sign of being implemented.
The ECHR’s intervention put a block on the policy and so instead, yet again, illegal migration is surging.
In terms of what is being talked about as the government’s next step - developments this week truly exposed that as madness.
