A big hello to all of you and I hope Heaver News finds you well!
It has been quite the year and as Christmas approaches I just wanted to thank you all for reading and supporting this newsletter.
I have aimed to highlight the thoughts and opinions of the often silent pro-Brexit, patriotic majority in this country.
Though some have sought to ignore the issue of immigration - as they always do - it is increasingly the defining issue in British politics.
The Conservative Government’s decision to ramp up legal net migration post-Brexit is a disaster.
They have basically ignored Brexit voters and the overwhelming view of Conservative voters: that levels of legal immigration have been too high and are damaging quality of life in the UK.
If the Conservatives had used their majority in Parliament, elected on a Brexit manifesto, to actually cut immigration then I suspect the polls would be rather different right now.
When it comes to stopping the boats crossing from France, it has been a case of tough speeches and a complete absence of decisive action.
The UK should have left the ECHR, but the Government’s Rwanda Bill does no such thing.
Some rebel Tory MPs heavily criticised the Bill - but none of them actually voted against it.
So Rishi Sunak’s pledge to ‘stop the boats’ still looks like pure fantasy and his new plan is very unlikely to work.
This has all led to Richard Tice’s Reform UK hitting record-high levels of support.
Reform are pledging to stand a candidate in every seat which is likely to have a massive impact on the next General Election.
The issue of immigration is also dominating much of European politics. In the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Italy, France and beyond, Eurosceptic forces are very much on the rise.
Voters are demanding tougher border controls - something that ultimately you can only achieve outside of the European Union, without open borders.
As ever I really do appreciate those of you supporting Heaver News as paid subscribers. Your comments are always interesting so please keep them coming.
Penny responded to my previous post by suggesting:
“Instead of another however million pounds to Rwanda, which is a total waste of time anyway, is it so difficult for the Government to build some detention centres and getting word out that after say March 1st ALL illegal immigrants will be housed in the centres.
“No spending money, no phones etc, just the basics and they will stay within the centres.”
Keith isn’t exactly convinced by the Government’s Rwanda policy either:
“The Rwanda plan is all smoke and mirrors it's a waste of time and just a ruse.”
Lia also asks a very fair question:
“Why are the government throwing money at Rwanda when nothing has happened?”
Whilst RW52 has speculated:
“Nothing has or will change with Lab or Tory in power.
“Now that Farage has finished his little playtime it will be VERY interesting seeing his next move.
“Love him or hate him he is the people’s man and COULD lead Reform to have serious involvement in the running of this country.”
Whatever happens next, Heaver News will be here covering it and representing your views. Thanks as ever for reading!
Looking forward to next year 👍
