Sunak Struggles, BBC's Horrible Choice & Aussie Referendum
The PM appears to be slowly sinking.
Hello all and welcome back to another edition of Heaver News! I hope you are all well.
My last article about Reform UK’s Conference led to a number of comments from paid supporters of the newsletter, including RW52 who said:
“Maybe an earlier Election?
“Nigel has now thrown his hat in the ring. He must have been convinced at the Tory Conference that the Tories are finished for a while.
“I can see Reform getting a few seats with Habib and Widdecombe on board. Things are getting interesting.”
But Lia was sceptical about Reform’s prospects:
“Reform are still acting like they have all the time in the world to get their act together and win votes.
“I'm still meeting people who have never heard of them! Not good at this stage of the game.”
And Mrs. Bucket is demanding Reform take on the establishment:
“It is VITALLY important that Reform attacks not just the Tories but the entire LibLabCon Leftist pantomime.”
Meanwhile things are still looking pretty dire for the Conservatives. I have to say I found Rishi Sunak’s Conference speech fairly uninspiring, lacking any real game-changing intent.
Subsequently a Times/YouGov poll found Sunak sinking to a new record-low level of support, with just 20% of the country now believing he’s the best choice for Prime Minister.
There still seems to be an aura of complacency sweeping around a Government who badly need to deliver, and fast, if they are to avoid a Conservative wipeout at the General Election.
By the way, that ‘Best PM’ poll from YouGov is hardly a clean sweep for Labour either - with ‘not sure’ beating both Sunak and Keir Starmer.
Labour are ahead, but this isn’t a slam dunk for them. I still think we could well be heading for a hung Parliament, folks.
We’ve recently seen yet another horrible decision from the BBC, who have once again shown themselves to be totally out of step with British public opinion. Surprise, surprise.
