Sunak Boats Failure
No, the boats aren't being stopped.
One of Rishi Sunak’s key pledges as Prime Minister has been to stop the illegal migrant boats crossing from France.
The evidence so far is that the Government is not even close to stopping this madness.
After committing to a Deal with Macron’s France for around £500Million, all the signs are that the UK is once again being ripped off.
Recent days have seen a huge number of crossings, despite Sunak’s Government trying to hail some early success that is actually pretty non-existent.
Remember that despite the Rwanda policy being announced back in April 2022, there is still no sign of it happening after the ECHR’s intervention.
That even with a Home Secretary in Suella Braverman who wants out of ECHR, Sunak remains committed to membership.
I’ve been saying for a while now that whether it is Boris Johnson, Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak, the Conservatives needed to start delivering rather than merely talking tough.
Well here’s what’s actually been going on in terms of ‘stopping the boats’ in the last week or so.
According to the official figures on 11th June, 549 people crossed on 10 boats in a single day.
On 12th June a further 545 people crossed on 11 boats.
13th June saw another 204 people crossing on 4 boats.
Then on 14th June, 45 people came across on a single boat.
172 people crossed on 3 boats on 15th June.
16th June saw 486 people crossing on 10 boats that day.
And finally a further 374 people came across on 7 boats on 17th June.
So as you can see the idea that the Government is anywhere close to stopping the boats is a complete joke.
The reality is that this is continuing at the moment on a daily basis, in this case every day for an entire week-long period.
It now means this year has already seen a further 10,000 people cross via this route. And there will be many more to come.
The simple fact is that the Government’s tough talk has not changed the situation. ECHR membership remains. Rwanda isn’t happening.
If this continues then it amounts to a complete catastrophe for Sunak’s Government.
Already Nigel Farage has highlighted these latest figures:
“Home Office figures show 2,375 illegal migrants have crossed the English Channel in the last week.
“I thought Rishi Sunak said he was stopping the boats?”
With the Tories now facing four by-elections and Reform planning to stand against every Conservative MP at the next election, the pressure is on for Sunak to actually deliver something.
Let's face it we all knew it wouldn't happen. The reason is they don't want it to happen. He's being told what to do by his superiors in the WEF. The sooner the tories are gone the better. I hope Reform have a great GE which will make Starmer have a rethink about his position. The world is now driven by pure GREED.
