Reform's Key Election Win
The public mood has shifted. It isn't going back.
It’s happening folks. Not just in polls, but with actual votes.
Stevenage has long been viewed as something of a bellwether constituency.
The Hertfordshire town saw an easy Labour victory there just last year, with Keir Starmer’s party gaining the seat from the Tories with 41% of the vote.
By contrast the Conservatives came second on 26% and Reform were a distant third on 18%.
As we know though, a lot can change in the space of a year.
Last night’s local Council by-election in Stevenage underlines this once more.
The Reform hype is real: big things are happening.
Because what we saw last night was yet another Reform gain from Labour, and it wasn’t even particularly close.
Reform took the seat with 39%, with Labour down to 27% and the Tories on just 12%. The LibDems lost support as well on 11%.
Yes, this is just one ward in a local Council by-election. But in an area like this, it shows the direction of political travel.
This wasn’t Reform’s only gain of the evening either, also winning a seat in Thanet, Kent.
The country has had enough of the extreme open border policies we’ve seen under the Tories and Labour that have made this country less safe, and is costing us a fortune.
Nigel Farage this week put forward an ECHR Withdrawal Bill in Parliament, but it was heavily defeated.
But voters know the country cannot go on like this.
There is one consistent theme in the national polling research now: big Reform leads.
Beneath that though, remarkable things are happening.
Could the Green Party actually emerge as the main opposition to Reform?
Well a Find Out Now poll this week has put, for the first time ever, Reform first on 32% with the Greens now the distant second on 17%.
Meanwhile you’ve got the Labour and Tory parties in that poll only on a combined 32% between them.
If those vote shares actually occurred at the next General Election, it would be the end of the present party system as we know it.
Don’t rule anything out.

One ward at a time Michael, is just as powerful to the people of the country. It is visible, it is inspiring and it feeds Reform growth so that the party foundations have real strength where it matters; there will be more, I feel it!
Nice to hear some good news Michael, thank you. Let's hope that the Watermelons don't do too well, because we know that they're green on the outside, but actually red inside, and I think we've had a belly full of Red! Have a good weekend everyone. 🙋
