There’s only one word for it: wow.
Not only have Reform lived up to the electoral hype, having been leading in the national polls, Nigel Farage’s party have exceeded expectations overnight.
I’m not surprised. Readers of this newsletter will long have been aware what was brewing.
The first test was who would emerge as the main challenger to this Labour Government.
That clearly is now Reform. In swathes of the country a new reality has been proven in these 2025 elections: vote Conservative, get Labour.
It is now Reform UK who undoubtedly are the main opposition to Keir Starmer’s Labour Party.
This was proven beyond doubt in the Runcorn and Helsby by-election.
The ultra-safe Labour seat saw an over 50% vote share for Labour just last year at the General Election.
But Reform have swept in and beaten Labour there, with an incredible knife-edge 6 vote majority! Sarah Pochin is Reform’s newest MP.
In fact the swing to Reform in that constituency outperformed the national polling. Quite astonishing.
It isn’t just about this one by-election though. There will be swathes of Council election results coming in throughout the day.
But already we have seen other massive Reform results, including Andrea Jenkyns being elected Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire.
Jenkyns received over 100,000 votes compared to the Conservatives in a distant second on just over 60,000. A massive win.
The West of England Mayoral election saw Labour narrowly beat Reform, 25% to 22% with the Conservatives picking up 17%. Vote Conservative, get Labour.
North Tyneside’s Mayoral race delivered a similar result, with Labour narrowly winning on 30.2% compared to Reform’s 29.4% and the Tories third with 20.5%. Vote Conservative, get Labour.
There have also been a string of very strong Reform gains in local Council by-elections across the country as well, too many to mention in fact.
These include big Reform gains in Thurrock, Rochdale, Thetford, Harlow and Hartlepool where the party received nearly 60% of the vote.
There’s another big day in store now. More massive results to come. But the message is clear: British politics is reforming in the most incredible way.
Great wins for Reform! Now their ‘foot’ is in many more doors, they can get to work and prove to other voters they can be the party to give us our country back.
Sarah really now has to pull out all the stops and connect more with the community , and confirm to those that voted for her that they did the right thing, that really is too close for comfort , she needs to win more hearts, and get everyone behind her if we are to get rid of the worst government in decades, good luck to her .
