Labour are panicking.
Keir Starmer’s bizarre speech yesterday was flat, low-energy and dull.
It was corporate powerpoint drivel full of supposed milestones and missions, but with nothing substantive to say on immigration whatsoever.
This was supposed to be a restart, a relaunch of a Labour Government that has got off to a horrific start.
The Rachel Reeves budget has hammered business, with entrepreneurial Britain left reeling.
Illegal migration has continued to surge, with 20,000 more arrivals under Labour and 6,000 extra people being put up in migrant hotels at colossal cost to the taxpayer.
At the same time our pensioners have been hammered with the winter fuel payment cut, our farmers crushed with an inheritance tax raid even as huge foreign giveaways continue.
The Government obsession with economically damaging green Net Zero targets continues.
Don’t forget, Labour actually pledged to cut energy bills. When’s that happening, then?
It turns out empty words in opposition are a lot different to actually delivering positive results in Government.
And so deservedly, we see Labour and Starmer collapsing in the polls.
Fittingly, Starmer’s failed reset speech took place on the same day as the first national poll showing Reform already overtaking Labour.
This surely will be a sign of things to come. I did say that huge change is on the way. And quicker than you think.
As I have long set out, the next big battle is between Reform UK and the Tories as to who will be the main opposition to Labour’s disastrous agenda.
Already, Kemi Badenoch’s party has seen long-time Conservatives Andrea Jenkyns and Tim Montgomerie recently make the switch to Reform. There will be many more to come.
Unsurprisingly meanwhile, Tory infighting has continued with the Welsh Tory Leader Andrew RT Davies resigning this week.
That’s not a good sign for them given the latest YouGov poll for Wales already had the Conservatives in fourth behind Reform, Labour and Plaid Cymru.
It isn’t just the Tories struggling though. Starmer’s desperation speech also shows that Labour realise they are in trouble too.
It has been the shortest honeymoon ever for a new party in Government with a majority.
Already Labour have fallen not just down to second place in the polls, but third.
Yesterday’s Find Out Now bombshell shows just how quickly things have changed.
The poll puts the Conservatives on 26%, Reform on 24% and Labour 23%.
Why has this happened to Labour so quickly? Many Labour voters clearly do not like what they have seen from this Government.
As Find Out Now revealed:
“Labour voters are less likely to say they’ll vote. Only 84% of 2024 GE Labour voters say they would ‘definitely’ or ‘very likely’ vote if there were a General Election called tomorrow, compared to 95% of Conservatives and 90% of Reform UK voters.
“Labour voters are less likely to stick with their party. Of those who say they’re planning to vote and give a valid vote choice, only 69% of 2024 GE Labour voters say they’ll vote Labour again, compared to 82% of Conservatives and 90% of Reform UK voters.
“Labour voters are more likely to say they ‘Don’t know’ how they would vote. 2024 GE Labour voters are more than twice as likely as Conservative and Reform voters to say ‘Don’t know’, even after prompting them with a follow-up question.”
So already Labour’s support is seeing a noticeable drop off, with Reform’s supporters the most committed to sticking with the party at the next election.
The Reform UK ambition clearly now is to perform strongly in next May’s Council elections, and follow on with breakthroughs in the Scottish and Welsh Parliament elections taking place under proportional representation.
On from there, the party can then realistically push for Nigel Farage to become Prime Minister at the next General Election, a prospect that is closer now than ever before.
You only have to look at Labour’s desperation to realise that they know it, too.

I've seen robot dolls with more oomph than Starmer....I'm not actually sure that he's real, but he must be to have made his little friend Khan, a Sir....talk about rewarding failures.
Not sure I'm happy with Tory MP's defecting to Reform. I think they are only doing it so as not to lose their very well paid jobs.
