Reform Overtake LibDems To Become Third Party
Breakthrough poll shows Reform UK recording higher level of support than the Liberal Democrats.
Good morning and welcome back to Heaver News, the voice of Brexiteers.
As ever thanks so much to my newest paid subscribers. Cheers to David, Peter and Carolyn for supporting Heaver News.
Paid subscribers get every newsletter in full and can comment on articles. We’ve got a great community continuing to build on here which I’m delighted about.
Thanks to Lia for the recent comment in response to the UK-France Deal. Lia’s verdict on the Home Secretary signing a new deal on illegal immigration with the French was that she was:
“A bit disappointed with Suella, I thought she'd come in guns blazing and get rid of the ECHR and lefty lawyers, instead she's just followed Priti's path and given the French a huge Christmas present, which will make very little difference at all.”
Another paid subscriber, Hilary, was equally as scathing:
“Pointless expensive farce! Yet another ‘stalling for time’ initiative that will fall flat on its face like every other woke virtue signalling ‘deal’!”
Whilst Maureen had this to say:
“There is now no chance of Conservatives winning the next election and in my view they are seriously out of order not having one sooner rather than later, after all the seeming policy changes and undelivered mandates.”
This damning verdict on the performance of the Conservative Government is a huge warning - and is reflected in the latest polling.
Reform Third In National Poll
It is clear from both comments here on Heaver News and on my YouTube Channel that many Brexiteers are fed up with the Government’s failure to stop the boats.
That is now seeing significant numbers of voters switching their support to Richard Tice’s Reform UK Party.
In a breakthrough moment for Reform, a Omnisis national poll has shown the party overtaking the Liberal Democrats (for the first time ever I believe).
The survey shows Reform on 9%, which I also believe to be the party’s highest ever score in a nationwide poll. The same poll has the LibDems on 7% and the Greens on 5%.
That is an impressive performance given Reform haven’t been around that long and don’t have a single representative in Parliament.
It also reflects a worrying trend for the Conservatives. Since the departure of Liz Truss as PM, there has been very little sign of any bounce for a Conservative Party now led by Rishi Sunak.
Indeed as you can see above, Labour are still polling around double the support of the Tories.
As Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has been quick to point out, the regular Labour poll leads are far bigger now than before Boris Johnson was ousted by his own MPs.
A record level of support for Reform UK coupled with a Tory Party struggling to win back Leaver support already puts pressure on Rishi Sunak.
If the Conservatives want to rebuild the voter coalition that secured them a majority in 2019, they better hurry up.
Once again the Tories have fallen for the French 3 card trick to stop the migrants. More money to France and the boats will still come. Suella Braverman is still controlled by Sunak and will not take us out of ECHR. Just how much have these migrants cost us being put up in 4* luxury. These migrants should have been put in old Army or RAF camps. They should then be guarded by Army POW style. No deterrent to not come here. Money saved could have gone to nurses. Now migrants are getting ready for free 4* Christmas dinner.
This is good news. Suella as a member of the Cabinet has to abide by collective responsibility and is answerable to the PM. I have no faith the PM wants to withdraw from the ECHR and has effectively constrained Suella. She needs to decide if her position is tenable. The PM needs some right wing representation in the cabinet for party unity, so Suella has some leverage to stand up and say ECHR withdrawal or sack me. Does she have the courage to stand by her convictions or shrivel up like Priti Patel.
