Reform End The Burnham Bounce
Labour have already lost their poll lead.
That didn’t last long.
It’s why I’ve thought Andy Burnham will either go early with a General Election - this year or possibly next year - or hang on until the bitter end.
Nothing in the middle would surely make sense for Labour, as their endless tax hikes continue to destroy the economy. I still think they’re more likely to go early though.
Because Labour’s lead in the polls has already slipped. And it ain’t likely to get much better for Burnham than during his first few months as Prime Minister.
Already we’re hearing talk of even more huge tax rises. Thousands more illegal migrants have crossed from France to England on boats since Burnham became PM. And Net Zero continues to fuel an appalling surge in energy prices.
Britain remains a country where immigration is the number one issue. Yet it is one that Andy Burnham seems reluctant to talk about.
YouGov recently recorded 50% of Brits as naming immigration as a top issue - more than any other issue.
By comparison, the economy (47%), health (26%) and environment (25%) are viewed with less concern than immigration right now.
That concern is only ramping up. YouGov also revealed that over the past decade, views have hardened:
“Our follow-up to a 2016 study finds UK attitudes to immigration are now more negative than 10 years ago, with the view that it has been ‘mostly bad for the country’ now the most common:
“Mostly bad for the country: 43% (+10 from Aug 2016)“Both good and bad: 29% (-9)
“Mostly good: 21% (-1)”
This should come as no surprise given the extreme Labour-Tory policy of mass migration that has led to an absurd level of population growth and a system that now allows almost 1.3 million migrants to claim Universal Credit.
Clearly this is not sustainable. But what are Labour going to do about it? We’ve heard nothing, even as the country goes broke.
And so already there are signs of Burnham’s early momentum fading fast.
Already Survation had recorded Reform overtaking Labour to regain the top spot.
Today with YouGov, we see both Labour and the Conservatives down two points and Reform UK up two points, with Reform taking a two-point lead over Burnham’s party.
If this is the extent of the Burnham bounce honeymoon, it doesn’t bode well for Labour.

...and YouGov surveys are Labour-friendly.
I have had many leaders both military and civilian where the topic of the day was always paramount- It is quite incredible that Andy Burnham has not even mentioned the immigration crises.
