Reform Are In!
We've taken our seats as Labour implode.
It’s happening right across the country.
Reform Councillors, including the Southend group that I’m a part of, are in the Council buildings and chambers off the back of the incredible support from voters last week.
We’re thankful to the people who have placed their trust in us and highly motivated to deliver the best representation possible for our residents.
It is a stark contrast to a Labour Party busy playing games in Westminster.
Resignations, plotting, a delusional Prime Minister and now a by-election.
It is high stakes as Labour plummet in the polls.
Indeed I think the chances of an early snap General Election are increasing.
Labour may now be pinning their hopes on a new Leader and a short-term poll bounce.
I’ll come to all of that next week.
In terms of the increasingly irrelevant Conservatives, they’re as slippery as ever.
In Worcestershire, Reform have been ousted from power thanks to an alliance between the Tories, Greens, Liberal Democrats and Independents.
The end result is a Green Councillor becoming the new Council Leader. So vote Tory, get Green.
Meanwhile on my patch, Reform’s now 11-strong group took our places in the Council chamber for the first time.
It was a big day as Southend Reform Leader Tony Cox became Mayor.
Alongside myself, many other new Reform Councillors now packed the chamber.
It will be a scene repeated many times over: Council chambers, a Welsh Parliament and a Scottish Parliament now filled with significant Reform representation.
This is why democracy and voting is so important. It can and does change things.
We are not making unrealistic promises or absurd pledges.
But we will work to make our communities and country a better place.

Such a decent, ordinary, smiling group of councilors. Many congratulations - and good luck!
Wonderful!!
