Out Of Control
Labour's tax hike is bad news.
So, a Labour Government raising taxes yet again.
You might think that’s unsurprising.
But there is a serious breach of trust here, given Labour pledged not to crush workers with tax rises in power.
Yet they massively raised taxes last year and they’ve done it again this week.
Yesterday saw Chancellor Rachel Reeves hike taxes by another £26billion at a time when many are already fleeing the country.
A large chunk of this tax increase will fund a splurge on benefits. Of the £26billion tax raise, £9billion will go on on higher welfare spending.
The shambolic leaking of basically the entire budget added to the feeling that this is a Government in chaos. And in big trouble.
Why do we even need an ‘Office For Budget Responsibility’?
Speaking of which, their report points to an increase in immigration coming as well:
“Net migration has been the main driver of adult population growth in recent years and contributes to around three-quarters of the increase in population across the forecast period.
“From an estimated record high of 873,000 in 2022, net migration fell back to an estimated 431,000 in 2024, around 25,000 lower than we expected in March.
“Net migration is expected to fall further to around 262,000 in the year to mid-2026. This is driven by the tightening of visa rules in recent years and a rise in emigration, especially among students, following several years of elevated immigration.
“Net migration is then projected to rise to reach 340,000 by the end of the forecast, consistent with the ONS ‘migration category variant’ that also underpinned our March forecast.”
So essentially it seems Labour will be dishing out a diet of record-high taxes and higher immigration.
It is simply a continuation of the Conservative legacy in Government.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Reform have a comprehensive alternative plan, rather than whacking the British people with further tax rises as Labour have done.
The Reform plan is as follows: end Universal Credit for foreign nationals, increase the Immigration Health Surcharge, cap foreign aid and deport foreign criminals.
Labour have chosen not to do that - and it will now be workers and businesses that suffer.
This is all to fund a fundamentally unfair system.
The Government have allowed another 40,000 illegal migrants to cross from France to England on small boats this year, a dangerous situation costing our country a fortune.
Quite simply, we can’t go on like this.
The Starmer/Reeves plan is clearly aimed at winning over worried left-wing Labour MPs, who are currently facing an electoral wipeout.
But with May elections next year, it will only buy them a limited amount of time. The public have had enough.
Just to give you an idea of the sensational shift that is happening in every part of our country, consider this.
Savanta research in London has shown that even in our capital city now, Labour’s support is at a record-low 32%, crashing over 10 points since the General Election.
In London, as everywhere else, Reform are the main challenger on 23%.
And the spread of Reform support is now far more broad than some would have you believe.
As the Evening Standard recently reported:
“Reform is also gaining support from younger Londoners, on 23% for the 18-24 age group, almost identical to the Greens on 22%, ahead of the Lib-Dems on 12%, but behind Labour on 31%.”
So voters right across the country, of all ages, are now switching to Reform as Labour limp on.
When you look at this latest car crash budget, it isn’t hard to see why.

I just know that North Norfolk will cancel their May elections yet again, to prevent Reform from getting in. It really is infuriating.
When those who are still working finally down tools because they're sick of paying for the illegal immigrants and those who don't want to work, where does Liebour think the money will come from then?
