Our Votes Blocked
England's voters are being silenced.
I can’t quite believe it. But they’re doing it again.
For the second year in a row, those of us in England are unsure as to which elections will even be going ahead in a few months time.
It was a similar situation last year. In January 2025 there was mass confusion as to which elections would go ahead and which wouldn’t.
Yet Labour and the Conservatives are repeating this disgrace in 2026.
As 2026 kicks off, the Council requests are coming in thick and fast across England for elections to be cancelled.
Their justification is ‘local Government reorganisation’. And so a Labour Government is asking Councils whether they wish to go ahead with their scheduled elections this year.
Of course many local politicians know they stand to lose their seats to Reform and thus some seem desperate to give any justification to stop the elections.
So we now live in a country where local Councillors get to decide if elections take place or not.
Surely the sensible thing to do would have been to allow the public to view the proposed Council reorganisation plans and then have their say on them at the ballot box.
Isn’t that how democracy is supposed to work, after all?
Instead this sinister trend allows politicians to bypass the public and agree to massive changes as some miss out on their chance to vote not just for one year, but now potentially two years in a row.
It exposes the cosy nature of an increasingly desperate and deranged establishment attempting to run away from their record of high taxes and weak borders.
As for what the British public make of all of this?
Well Reform still lead by some distance, on 32% nationally.
Where elections will still be going ahead in May, there are some massive hints at what is to come.
In London, Reform are now the main challenger to Labour’s dominance of the capital city.
Whilst in Wales, it is a clear Plaid vs. Reform battle, with Labour and the Tories miles behind.
And in Scotland, the main fight is now between the SNP and Reform as Labour sink.
But the reality remains, millions who were due to vote this year are set to be denied their say. Again.
It is another low point in a country in decline under a Labour Government.

Reform should pick a district and organise a local referendum as a massive anti-Labour stunt. I'm a bit old for such antics but younger Reform members need to think outside the box. Labour and Starmer are a sitting duck, come on Reform, make them into a laughing stock, it's not difficult.
A sign that government are employing the law of the jungle, and regard the people as monkeys.
