A relentless campaign from the Remainer establishment to oust Suella Braverman must not succeed if the Tories are to have any chance of winning back Brexiteer support.
Everyone from unnamed political aides to civil servants and even Conservative MPs have been quoted as briefing against Braverman.
Her great sin? Taking a firm line against an illegal immigration scandal that has seen around 40,000 people cross on small boats from France to England in 2022 after over 28,000 migrants did the same last year.
Braverman has been clear: the UK must leave the ECHR to complete Brexit and take back control. Without doing this, the Rwanda policy seems nothing more than a vague idea with little chance of happening anytime soon. Remember, it was a policy announced back in April then blocked after Euro Court intervention.
Nigel Farage defended the Home Secretary yesterday and said:
“Suella Braverman supports leaving the ECHR. This is why our Remainer media are trying to force her out.”
There were howls from the lefty establishment when Braverman described the situation as an invasion and admitted that illegal immigration is out of control with a broken system.
Of course Braverman’s opponents seem to have few answers themselves as to what they would actually do to stop the boats. Many of those now hammering the Home Secretary have campaigned for open borders and unlimited immigration.
What’s striking is that outside of the Remainstream media bubble, there is a large outpouring of support for Braverman. Her determination to sort out this mess has gained her massive support from viewers of my YouTube Channel and too I suspect from Brexiteers across the country. Braverman was already a favourite of the Conservative grassroots.
The reason that the Tories have fallen so far behind in the polls is that many Leavers who backed Boris Johnson’s Tory Party in 2019 are disappointed by their delivery in Government. Endless EU negotiations instead of firm action on the Protocol. Legal net migration still running at massive levels. British policy blocked by ECHR. And a disturbing surge in illegal immigration that has got worse year after year.
This failure to take decisive action will cost the Conservatives the next election. Reform UK have been edging up in the polls and 16% of Brexit voters have switched over to backing Reform in the latest People Polling research. Critically, the party will likely be fielding candidates in nearly every constituency against virtually every Tory MP.
If Rishi Sunak wants to win back Leaver support that his party badly needs to have any chance of another Tory majority, the PM must not only back Braverman but allow her to get on and do whatever it takes to stop the boats.
That requires ignoring lefty Twittersphere outrage, whinging from wet Tory MPs and opposition parties who endlessly criticise with no solutions on offer.
If Sunak was to cave in and sack Braverman, I suspect many more Leavers would then make an exit from supporting the Conservatives.
THIS is a battle Brexiteers and Patriots must win.
It's fairly obvious that neither Party want Suella to succeed and if Sunak doesn't back her we'll know exactly where we the people stand, and that's at the bottom of the ladder!
I'm still trying to work out why both political parties are so keen to welcome, and keep, these illegals....I'm sure the truth will come out eventually, but in the meantime "you go, Suella....most of the people are 100% behind you!"
