Another day, another record figure for Reform UK with a respected pollster.
None of this should come as much of a surprise.
As Simon Jones reported yesterday:
“Home Office Minister Dame Angela Eagle tells BBC Breakfast 218 hotels are being used to house asylum seekers.
“Nine hotels are planned for closure by the end of March.”
For a Labour Government suddenly trying to talk tough on borders, those figures expose the horrendous failure we’re now seeing.
Such is the panic setting in that Labour are already launching adverts with Reform-style branding.
They are absolutely terrified. What a coincidence that some elections due to take place across England on 1st May are cancelled.
We may already be getting used to it, but the shift in power dynamic since the General Election is truly remarkable.
Keir Starmer’s Labour are already more worried about Reform than the Tories.
Kemi Badenoch has already led the Tories into becoming the third party.
And Reform are already the most popular party now, recently topping 200,000 members.
Breaking down today’s YouGov poll underlines just how much things have changed in a relatively short period of time.
As the firm themselves confirm:
“Our latest voting intention poll (9-10 Feb) has Reform UK on their highest figure to date.”
They have Reform leading on 26%, with Labour on 25% and the Conservatives third again on 21%.
But the breakdown of figures within the research is even more telling.
94% of those who voted Reform at the General Election are sticking with the party. But the Tories have only retained 69% of their supporters and Labour 66%.
Reform now have a massive 23 point lead with Leave voters, smashing the Tories 49% to 26%.
It’s now a 10 point lead for Reform over Labour with working class voters.
And the gender split has been way overhyped by mainstream media: Reform have a single point lead over Labour with men and likewise Starmer’s party have a one point lead over Reform with women.
Some of the breakdowns of support across England are dynamite: there is now a three point gap in the Midlands with Reform on 29% and Labour on 26%.
So expect Labour’s strategy, mixing attacks on Reform along with an attempt to talk tough, to ramp up.
What we can say is that we have never seen support for Reform UK as high as it is right now.
With some elections still going ahead on 1st May we could soon witness some extremely dramatic results.

With regard to the May elections being cancelled I think that a private agency needs to be asked to run those elections nevertheless, and the results will be binding. Bypass the government.
Great idea, why didn't I think of that, John??? I would love to see those results!
Well, it would give Starmer something to think about, the silly little man! Whenever I think of him, he appears in my mind dressed as a Pantomine donkey! I can laugh lots about Starmer.
