Hello all and welcome back to another edition of Heaver News.

First of all thank you to my newest paid subscribers for supporting this newsletter: Roberta for upgrading and Revolution for your support as a paid supporter as well. Cheers guys.

As readers of this newsletter will know, I try to be as optimistic as possible.

But the mayhem we have seen unfold in recent days is sickening.

It is one thing for Tory MPs to urge the Government to change course.

But when it comes to border policy, it is blatantly obvious that something has gone very badly wrong.

Things have got so ridiculous that apparently even those from Turkey who arrive via small boat can’t be deported back as it is somehow deemed to be unsafe.

There appears to be a pincer movement of a woke civil service establishment along with outdated international restrictions.

It amounts to elected politicians being outmanouvoured by unelected and in some cases foreign figures - basically allowing themselves to be overruled.

But it is frankly pathetic for the Conservative Government to not have done more to end this nonsense.

Once again sensible Tory MPs seem to campaign for an agenda different to the one their party has delivered in office.

There was the opportunity a long time ago now to properly start the process of change.

Home Secretary Suella Braverman called for the UK to leave the ECHR during her Conservative leadership campaign. She then of course became Home Secretary.

Rishi Sunak should have empowered her to deliver on that pledge as a decisive blow against this border insanity that has meant the Government’s Rwanda policy still shows little sign of actually happening.

Instead, Braverman is now something of a rebel within her own party, saying:

“Enough is enough. Exploitation of our system needs to stop.

“Foreign criminals must lose their right to claim asylum or modern slavery and should be automatically removed.

“It’s why we need to leave the ECHR.”

When I say rebel within her party, I’m referring to the Tory Parliamentary Party.

Because actually the evidence is that the Conservative grassroots feel much the same way. They are fed up and are demanding action.

If it isn’t taken then expect a further boost to Reform UK - the latest numbers on this are increasingly damning for Sunak.
