It is clear by the comments here on Heaver News from paid subscribers that the Conservative Government are fast losing the Brexiteer voter coalition that backed them to victory in 2019.

After I asked at the weekend if this Government is really conservative, the feedback from paid subscribers was overwhelming.

Charles is far from impressed with Jeremy Hunt’s statement:

“There is nothing in this budget that stimulates wealth creation, and everything that hammers business. This is a socialist budget that will lead to the long term decline of the UK.”

Worryingly for the Conservatives, there is increasing evidence of Tory Members leaving and switching to Reform UK. Hilary said that:

“I am sick to the stomach of the continual betrayal by the consocialist party. They have burnt all bridges with most Brexit voters I am sure…I have cancelled my Conservative membership and am about to join Reform.”

Brexit Betrayal, Farage Return?

There was a hellacious backlash to the Sunday Times story over the weekend of the Government shifting towards a so-called ‘Swiss-style’ arrangement with the European Union.

Brexiteers including Lord Cruddas immediately rallied, pledging to stop any reversal put forward.

This is a reversal of the 2016 EU referendum when over 17 million people voted to leave the EU. I am ready to mobilise the vote leave team to stop it. We are ready to fight for the Brexit the electorate voted for.

The Government quickly sought to distance itself from the reports. But the suggestion surely came from someone senior in Government.

Indeed the Political Editor of the Sunday Times, Caroline Wheeler, came out and made clear:

“The Sunday Times does not publish important stories like this unless they are impeccably sourced.

“As you know, the Government response is often influenced by a need to manage the warring tribes of the Conservative Party.”

One of those leading the charge against a Brexit betrayal was Nigel Farage who has since spoken about a potential return to frontline politics. So how likely is it?
