We are witnessing a trend across European politics.
A recent string of conservative gains and victories across European elections has seen more of the same recently.
In both Greece and Spain, conservative parties have come out on top. Socialists meanwhile are in retreat.
The local and regional results in Spain were so stark that the socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has seemingly panicked and gone for an early General Election.
That snap election will now take place on 23rd July.
