England's Elections Cancelled
Labour and the Tories are running scared of Reform.
This is real banana republic stuff.
Once again it seems Labour and Conservative politicians are holding discussions on whether elections scheduled to take place next year in England will go ahead.
It’s a farcical situation that sets a dangerous precedent.
Remember, England has already seen many Council elections this year cancelled in the name of local Government ‘reorganisation’.
Surely the point is to have elections so voters can decide whether they want to back the proposed reorganisation or not?
But instead it seems local Conservatives are worried that Reform defeating them and winning seats all over the country would disrupt the cosy Labour-Tory plan.
Democracy is being treated as a mere inconvenient interruption by the two legacy parties. It’s disgusting.
This is further demonstrated by the bizarre decision to suddenly push back English Mayoral elections from next year to 2028.
And now, in a week when Reform have won more local by-elections, we learn of potentially another huge bunch of votes being cancelled.
