England Will Vote!
Labour-Tory plot to cancel elections fails spectacularly.
Now this is a real victory for democracy!
The disgusting stitch-up between Labour and the Tories to stop English voters from having their say this year has been demolished thanks to Reform UK.
Some areas would have seen local elections cancelled for the second year in a row.
Under the guise of ‘local Government reorganisation’, the Labour Government and local Conservative Councillors teamed up to cancel elections again.
Their appalling attitude towards democracy shows their complete contempt for voters.
The real plot was quite clear: desperate politicians doing everything they can to try and stop Reform gaining even more seats in May.
Thanks to legal action launched by Reform, the Government have now backed down. Another Labour u-turn. More humiliation for a Prime Minister who is now a lame duck.
Nigel Farage called it yesterday:
“We took this Labour Government to court and won.
“In collusion with the Tories, Keir Starmer tried to stop 4.6 million people voting on May 7th.
”Only Reform UK fights for democracy.”
And the Government have now confirmed that:
“Following legal advice, the Secretary of State has withdrawn his original decision to postpone 30 local elections due to take place in May 2026.
“He has written to Council Leaders and key stakeholders to confirm this decision.
”The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) will take the necessary steps to revoke the secondary legislation in Parliament to ensure that all local elections will now go ahead in May 2026.
“The Government also confirmed today that up to £63 million in new capacity funding will be made available to help local councils across the 21 reorganisation areas to best deliver local government re-organisation, building on the £7.6 million provided for developing proposals last year.”
The arguments put forward by Labour were frightening in their dismissal of democracy.
That it was all too expensive. That scheduled elections were pointless. And even that you, the voters, didn’t want them to go ahead!
This desperate scramble reflects a political establishment in utter meltdown, and likely to get even more deranged as they try to thwart Reform.
Of course ultimately the end outcome of this whole sorry affair is that voters across England are likely to punish Labour and the Tories even more.
In fact, this May’s elections are now much bigger than before.
Because we are on the verge of witnessing total obliteration for Labour and a Tory decline that is way beyond what most are anticipating.
Yes, the people of England will also now have their say this May.

Well done Nigel, for standing up to this bloody awful government and seeing democracy returned to those who were being cheated.
Thank you for the email Michael.
Best news for a long time. Bring it on at the next run of elections we need our country back.
