Readers of Heaver News will be well aware that May next year was due to be a big moment.
A Labour Party that is already plummeting in popularity were set to face the electorate nationwide, with a huge number of Council elections planned.
As I write this in December 2024, those 1st May 2025 elections will still take place, right?
Well unbelievably, that is no longer clear.
In what is real banana republic stuff, elections across the country due to take place in just a few short months now have huge doubts surrounding them.
Where will they take place? Will they be postponed in some places? How long for?
Right now we don’t know. That in itself is a disturbing development given how close we now are to those elections.
Everything is in doubt because of Labour’s plans, which could include scrapping district Councils and every area getting a Mayor.

“They have the audacity to call us a ‘threat to democracy’ whilst they act like third world dictators.”
Whilst the Reform Chairman Zia Yusuf claimed that:
“Labour are trying to stop the English County Council Elections.
“The day after Harriet Harman talked about how poorly they were doing in by-elections.
“Starmer is governing like a despot.”
The last minute nature of these potentially huge changes rightly has many alarmed at the prospect of elections being cancelled so close to polling day.
Here is the very latest on what could happen next - and the areas of the country likely to be affected.
