Patrick is one of many readers demonstrating a level of dissatisfaction with the Tories from the very people who voted Conservative in 2019:
“I voted Tory in 2019 for the first time for twenty years, solely because it was the only way to get any sort of Brexit.
“And despite the fact that all five candidates on the ballot paper were Remainers (what’s new..?) it won’t be happening again.”
Can the Tories turn it around? There is still precious little evidence of that happening.
Meanwhile we’ve just seen two hefty dollops of reality that many in Westminster would do well to pay attention to.
One in relation to the dire electoral outlook for the Tories and the other a familiar contrast of what voters want the Government to do compared to the usual lefty media narrative.
