We witnessed something very telling this week.
It shows Labour once again to be at odds with the reality of what is going on in this country.
To see a Labour Minister this week try and claim that most of those crossing illegally from France to England on small boats are babies, children and women tells us much.
Deliberately misleading? Trying to to bend facts to meet Labour’s own warped lefty narrative? Or just completely incompetent and ill informed?
Whatever the reason, it’s worrying.
How can a Government hope to tackle this disaster when they haven’t even got the basic facts right.
The truth is that the overwhelming majority of those arriving illegally are men, and they are mostly young men.
Labour’s unhelpful, worrying intervention adds to the feeling that those in charge simply don’t get it.
That our institutions are increasingly remote and disconnected.
Just look at this research from YouGov:
“A majority of Britons express little to no confidence in the British judicial system for the first time since YouGov began asking the question in 2019.
“A lot/fair amount of confidence: 40% (-3 from 14-16 Dec 2024).
“Not very much confidence/none: 53% (+4).”
But as ever, I am an optimist.
That we can - and must - turn things around.
We must leave the ECHR.
We must make it clear - in law - that anyone arriving illegally on a boat can never claim asylum here.
Labour’s disastrous handling of the economy must be reversed. We should encourage aspiration and entrepreneurship, cutting taxes. The Government’s current approach has triggered a wealth exodus.
And once again, there are many signs that the British people want a fundamental change.
In the Labour vs. Reform battle raging across the country in local by-elections, it is Reform coming out on top.
Morley this week saw Reform gain a Council seat, with Labour plummeting and the Tories on just 4%.
Reform also picked up two seats in Mansfield with close to 60% of the vote.
Whilst Reform also came out on top in North Northamptonshire.
The people’s verdict is clear as Labour remain in complete denial.
Labour's Communists find it very easy to lie because 1) they know the BBC will broadcast their lies, 2) they know the retractions/truth will only be heard by a minority and 3) to them, the end justifies the means. And we're paying their salaries. They should of course be in jail for treason.
It was a Blatant Outright Lie, the Fact is the Labourlite Leftie Believed his Own lie. No Wonder this Country is going down the drain.
