The Burnham bounce, a Badenoch bounce?

Neither were on display at a series of local Council by-elections last week.

In fact the media narrative of what’s happening right now was completely at odds with how people actually voted.

The idea that a huge Labour comeback or a Tory recovery are underway was not apparent at all across various actual votes we’ve just seen take place.

Already we’ve seen Reform overtake Burnham’s Labour in one national YouGov poll.

And these results suggest the media narrative of bounces and comebacks may be slightly premature.
