Britain's By-Election Earthquake
This is what's really happening.
It’s clear what they’re trying to do.
Terrified by Reform UK’s dominance of the national polls, we’re seeing a sustained attempt to try and destroy Nigel Farage.
It won’t work. These sort of smear campaigns rarely do.
Of course the country needs radical change. The cowardly Tories refused to leave the ECHR when they had the chance. Labour have vowed never to do so.
And where does that leave the country?
Well as ever, British taxpayers are squeezed even harder to fund a system that has become more and more unfair.
We now learn that three-quarters of those granted the right to stay in this country under ECHR rules are in fact unemployed.
Those who invoked ECHR to remain in the country last year alone will end up costing taxpayers £4.9 billion.
The Labour-Tory model of Government seems to treat this country as some sort of global charity that forgets to prioritise and look after its own people.
It is remarkable that Andy Burnham’s recent speech - including a raft of policy that wasn’t even in the Labour 2024 manifesto - had little to say on immigration.
YouGov recently had immigration tied with the economy as the most important issue facing the country right now. Yet Labour have no answers, nothing to say.
But the public have noticed, and a wave of local by-elections has continued to confirm the seismic electoral shift that is underway.
This week already we’ve seen Reform surge to over 40% in Telford, with Labour just narrowly holding on there with a massively reduced vote share.
In Torfaen, we’ve seen another Reform gain in Wales.
And in Leicestershire, Reform just gained a seat from Labour.
Outside of the Westminster bubble, we’re seeing similar results on a regular basis.
Last week saw Reform gain a seat from the Tories in Tamworth, gain another from Labour in Denbighshire and do the same in Nuneaton, too.
So when you see hysterical establishment attacks, be mindful of the electoral reality continuing to sweep the country.
When it comes to actual votes and public support, the trend remains clear.
The Tories and Labour are being gradually swept away.
