Well Boris Johnson’s last Prime Minister’s Questions was signed off in typical Boris fashion: ‘Hasta la vista, baby’. Many are already speculating that Johnson will be back.
Meanwhile the Conservative Post’s petition to get the current PM on the leadership ballot for Tory members to vote on is back online.
And I can reveal that as of this morning more than 5,000 Conservative members have written to the Party Chairman calling for the current PM to be included on the ballot.
That is astonishing but doesn’t surprise me at all. On my YouTube channel around 7,000 Brexiteers have had their say: Boris is backed by 64%, Liz Truss is on 33% and Rishi Sunak backed by only 4%.
Solving what I’m calling the Johnson Conundrum is going to be a real challenge for whoever does win the contest to be next PM. Many grassroots Conservatives are not happy that Boris is being forced out.
We now know it will be either Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss who is the next Prime Minister.
It is quite clear that plenty in Brussels would prefer if Truss did not become PM. As Anton Spisak of the Tony Blair Institute puts it: “When I visited Brussels recently, there was real nervousness about Truss and her prime-ministerial prospects…If she becomes PM, I think it will be virtually impossible to solve the stalemate over the Northern Ireland Protocol. Unlike Sunak, who could appeal to the EU with a fresh start, Truss simply isn't trusted.”
Meanwhile The Telegraph reported: “Senior EU sources told The Telegraph the bloc would prefer to restart talks with a fresh face rather than Liz Truss, who has been running the negotiations.”
I suspect many Brexiteers will view this as a sound endorsement for Truss. Let’s hope both Sunak and Truss are questioned about completing Brexit and tackling immigration during the course of the leadership race. Conservative voters will want to know where the next PM stands on these important issues.
Illegal migration is continuing at absurd levels. With the ECHR intervention meaning there is absolutely no sign of the Rwanda policy actually being implemented, we have now seen 12 consecutive days of small boat crossings across from France.
Why are these outrageous numbers not attracting mainstream media coverage?
We know that according to YouGov, immigration and asylum is now the number two issue for both Conservative voters and Leavers.
But despite that it is quite clear much of the media is intent on ignoring this growing scandal, despite numbers already surpassing 15,000 this year.
Attorney General Suella Braverman made clear during her leadership campaign: “I'm the only candidate who can stop the small boats crossing the channel because I'm the only one who knows we need to leave the ECHR. The British people won't forgive us unless we address this issue.”
She then endorsed Liz Truss. Conservative voters and indeed the country will expect answers as to how the new PM intends to stop the illegal migration mayhem we are seeing.
I’m not at all surprised by this latest intervention from foreign powers to persuade opinion, in an attempt to influence our internal affairs. Nothing new there.
Let’s first recollect on their abhorrent and defamatory language throughout their preliminary discussions, when drawing up their proposals that actually prevented our playing on any ground that was anywhere near level. Brexit was subsequently sabotaged and from that moment on, there literally is nothing, given parliament’s unconscionable capitulation when agreeing to a strategy (NI protocol) that will inevitably lead to the braking up of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
The (EU’s) apparent interest in a MAN, who on closer inspection, would more likely serve their interests more keenly but particularly given his rapid emergence from obscurity to then pontificate with some authority over us, speaks volumes about the alarming deterioration within the Conservative party, as their engineered acrimony foists further harm on our country, as diversity overwhelms us all.
Immigration is an acceptable commodity providing of course their skills meet expectation’s or are we likely to see any significant improvements, especially now when permitting the arrival of tens of thousands of undocumented combatant aged individuals (illegals) seeking sanctuary after their epic journey through numerous safe territories, what is motivating this absurd exodus. Perhaps it’s our abundance of attractive single white women because it’s certainly not going to be a Full English that’s for sure.
