I’m sure you have by now heard about the horrifying incident over the weekend in Dover involving a man throwing petrol bombs who then reportedly took his own life.
It is a truly disturbing development in a crisis that is growing ever more desperate.
In terms of the numbers crossing on small boats from France, Saturday saw another 990 migrants cross on 24 boats. On Sunday a further 468 crossed on 8 boats.
That means so far in 2022 around 40,000 people have now crossed to England via this route, far higher than the record numbers of 2021.
What are the Government going to do about it? Well Rishi Sunak has spoken to French President Emmanuel Macron. But the end result of previous UK-France deals on this has seen British taxpayers cough up huge sums of cash and the number of crossings continue to dramatically increase.
Of course the Home Secretary Suella Braverman has been absolutely clear that the UK must leave the ECHR. The European Court blocked the Rwanda policy from being implemented. There is still no sign whatsoever of the Rwanda plan happening despite it being announced back in April.
It is sad and outrageous that this dangerous situation has been allowed to escalate over a number of years. One of those who highlighted the reality of what was going on at the start of this crisis was Nigel Farage. Today he has said:
“The Channel crisis has now become an emergency. If Home Secretary Suella Braverman wants to keep her job, she needs to come out of hiding — and quickly.”
Reform Rising
If the Conservative Government fail to stop the illegal immigration crisis, then they have no chance of winning the next election.
Reform UK have been seeing an increase in their support, up to 7% with People Polling. Several recent polls have shown Reform close to overtaking the Liberal Democrats as the third most popular party.
When you dig into the data of polls like this it is striking how many Leave voters are currently backing Reform; 16% of Brexiteers have switched in this latest poll.
Richard Tice’s Party recently announced that they have selected 550 General Election candidates. That would mean voters in virtually every constituency having a Reform candidate.
Tory Split
Regardless of who the Conservative Leader is - be it Boris Johnson, Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak - my view is that they head a badly divided party that requires an election win for the Leader to gain proper authority.
Very shortly after Truss became PM there was talk of Conservative MPs putting in letters of no confidence against her. It looks like some MPs are already taking the same action now against Rishi Sunak.
The Express have reported that over the weekend they were contacted by unhappy Tory MPs already drafting letters to go in.
Sunak will face a rough ride from his own MPs, just like Truss and Johnson, until he tries to lead his party to an election victory and fresh majority.
Election Demand
Those who say there is no public demand for a General Election have got it wrong.
After two changes of Prime Minister without voters being consulted, poll after poll now shows a majority of the country demanding an election.
Redfield and Wilton have found two-thirds of the country in favour of an election and around a quarter of voters against.
That includes 50% of Conservative supporters now favouring a vote versus 40% who oppose one.
Of course Sunak could avoid calling an election for years yet. But will he be another Tory Leader who ends up facing an internal leadership challenge instead?
How can anyone let in nearly 1000 illegal migrants in 24 boats? They can see them coming in and we send Border patrol and RNLI to go and pick them up for a free taxi ride here. Push and turn them back in their boats to France. Somebody needs to turn them around, its not that difficult. RNLI are a disgrace, along with Border patrol.
WHEN will the penny drop for Tory supporters that the Tory party is run by Marxists hell bent on destroying Britain, with a few smiling 'faces' leading the party, pretending to be conservatives? There's no need for Labour with the staggering damage being done by fake Tories over the past gruesome 12 years, with criminal immigration and debt now spiralling out of control.
